This piece is beautiful. The oak is furniture grade with clear grain. The joinery is tight. The brass hardware is nice and the finish keeps the natural look of the wood while still gleaming. The glass does rattle, but that is an easy fix. It was packed well and had no damage despite the outside of the box being beat up. The construction of the drawers is of a very soft wood, and the drawer bottoms are an odd split panel that I’m not a fan off (will be difficult to keep clean). If you hate assembling furniture, you're really not gonna enjoy this. If you're a freak like me who likes assembling furniture, grab a couple podcast episodes and hunker down because this TV stand will put you to the test. It took me more than 4 hours to get it all done and my arms may never recover, but it's a solid beast of a piece. Some of the wood is a little dinged up (I blame myself for hulking it up a flight of stairs solo), and I stripped a few screw holes, but everything is secured so much, in so many places, I'm not even worried.
