This is a strong well made bunk bed. I wish they put extra screws though becase a few broke and I had to improvise. My boys love it and that was the dream. It is a build so prepare, it took about 6 hours to complete it looks great. Relatively easy install, just took time. Solid construction. There is a metal bar that runs under top bunk, that I purchased pipe foam insulation to cover it as I knew it was just a matter of time before a child hit there head really hard on it. While solid wood, it does indent/mark easily, I have two rambunctious boys who quickly put multiple dents in it and cracked the wood where the ladder attaches by pulling up on the ladder, but probably sonething similar would happen with any bed that we got!. We recently updated my mother's bedroom, and one of the biggest changes was purchasing this Twin over Full bunk bed that she had been wanting. Overall, we are very pleased with it. The bed is solid and sturdy for the price, and the color looks great in the room. Assembly wasn't particularly difficult, but there are a lot of pieces, so I recommend giving yourself plenty of space to organize everything before you start. We also added a few extra slats for additional mattress support, which worked out well. For the lower full-size bunk, we purchased the 9" Plush Cooling Gel Hybrid Mattress by Zinus, and it's been comfortable for her to sleep on. We been using this bunk bed for some weeks now in my kids room and overall i feel good about it. The wood feel strong and not cheap, which i worry before honestly. The drawers under bed are very useful, we put toys and some clothes there, room look more clean now. Ladder feel secure and guardrails are high enough, my son move a lot when sleep so this make me calm. There is slide too, kids love it a lot, they play every morning like small park. I'm happy with the bunk bed. But my kids are ecstatic. They were celebrating it for like 30 minutes. And the best part is they sleep better now. Putting it together was as difficult as advertised and due to my fitness level, I was sore for days after. The instructions were thorough, though could have been better as some steps could be merged with later ones to make the construction easier to accomplish. And the slats portion could be improved significantly as some were shorter than others. Those steps also didn't convey that the position of each wasn't fixed. So I had to measure the bed frame and put marks down to ensure I did it evenly. I would have expected markings on the frame to indicate where the slats would go. Overall I really like this bunk bed. Color is a bright white. Some of the pieces appeared less painted, as in I could see the wood grain behind the paint as the piece could have used another coat, but once the bed was together this was completely unnoticeable. Some pieces also came a tiny bit damaged but they were all hidden once together. I thought I was going to have to add slats or a bunkie board because of the distance between the slats but because of how they are attached and the material that runs down them to attach them this was not necessary at all. I have 6 in memory foam mattresses on mine that work out really nice. The bottom bunker might bunk their head- but this is true for any bottom bunker on a bunk bed. This bed has suited our family's needs well, so far. It seems pretty sturdy, isn't too high so I'm not concerned when my 3 year old climbs up. My 5 year old is on the lower bunk and can sit up without hitting her head. The slats on the bottom bunk allow the mattress to be elevated off of the floor. The reason I gave it 4 stars was for assembly. While I found the directions clear, there were two items mislabeled and I did not realize until I was halfway through construction. I had to completely disassemble to fix the issue. So I would recommend double checking the hole placements in the photos along with the labels on each piece to confirm that you are using the correct piece at each step. Another issue that I had was one screw broke during assembly, another has broken off since, and there was 1 screw missing. The bed turned out in the end and we're happy with it.
