The drawer handle is not visible – a cut-out in the bottom makes the drawer easy to open, without affecting the look. For a more attractive finish, the top surface of the bed is the same color as the rest of the piece. To keep the mattress from shifting and make sure the sheets stay in place, they added an extra piece to the foot of the bed. This handy feature, which runs the entire width of the bed, is hidden from view when the mattress is in place. The drawer slides are made of metal for added support and a smoother back-and-forth motion. The drawer can hold up to 25 lbs.

5 stars for the bed but unfortunately, the experience took much longer than it should have. Our first delivery arrived incomplete, with only two pieces of wood—more than half of the bed was missing. We had to return it, and a full replacement shipment was sent, which delayed everything, including our assembly (which, of course, we still had to pay for). The new shipment did arrive with all the parts, but we also noticed some chipping and damage on the side. At that point, we decided to keep it because we were tired of going back and forth. This queen platform bed frame is okay for the money spent. The color was exactly as pictured, which I appreciated. It’s not solid wood. It’s MDF with a wood laminate overlay and it definitely doesn’t have a high-end look. There are a lot of pieces to assemble, and not all of them aligned perfectly.
