I really like that it closes quietly. It seems very durable and there is definitely quality in this trash can. It can't go very close to the wall and it sounds like its breaking when you open the lid far enough to keep it open. It would be nice if the hinges inside the lid were covered to make it easier to clean. It is also hard to open without using the step. Overall, it will take some getting used to but we like it.

This was a gift so I'm very glad that it was put in an extra box with only the brand name on it so they couldn't see what it was when delivered. It came in fast and with no damage at all.

The waste basket is a good size and looks great. It will make the perfect gift for my daughter and son-in-law this Christmas. They have just redone their kitchen and the stainless waste basket is the perfect accessory. Seems to be made well and should hold up with the daily use of a busy family of 4.

Works great and sturdy construction. Purchased to keep the dog out of the trash, there is a small overhang of the lid so the dog can get in if he really tries. This has reduced the dog trash problem considerably.

With the flat design it makes it easy to place anywhere.

I was looking for a stainless steel trash can for my kitchen. Seems these days, you "get what you pay for". Though on the "pricey" side, I decided to treat myself to a quality product, instead of dishing out additional money for a cheaply made can in a few years. The semi-round fits nicely into my small kitchen. Because it is a large capacity (for one person), it does tend to hold the stink of garbage. If I threw out my trash more often, that would solve the problem. At first, I thought something was wrong with the step-on pedal that opens the lid. When I read the brochure, I realized that it was a "quiet-close" system, and that the pedal lowers the top slowly and quietly. Now I feel like a big shot! :)There is no need to purchase the accompanying trash can liners, although they do fit this can perfectly. I still use mine from [...], and as long as they do the job they are supposed to do, I'm fine with that.Overall, Simplehuman puts out a quality, "artsy" product that will make all of your garbage can dreams come true!

Very good build quality. Very fingerprint resistant (but not proof like it says on box). Would certainly recommend it.

I was not going to buy this one because of the price but I read all of the reviews and this one came out on top and after 2 mos I'm glad I chose this can over the others! I wouldn't go back.

The best trash can we have ever owned!

You don't mind it sitting out in the kitchen because it is attractive and the trash is covered. It is just what I needed. Modern, sleek and holds alot of trash.
