While the cd case appears to be well made of solid wood, it is not without flaws. I ordered this item after watching the wood shop's video touting their quality controls and wanted to support them. The top of the case has a small black mark from a knot that should have been sanded out. The bottom part was sloppy in the application of the stain, which is uneven and mottled. I am pretty handy with wood, but it took some time to get the base on due to the lack of predrilled holes and the absence of any instructions as to exactly where it should be screwed on.
