They are perfect for my kitchen and provide the classic look I have been seeking. They wash and dry beautifully and I was able to iron them with a cool iron before hanging. The cotton linen texture makes the curtains look expensive and they are extremely easy to hang thanks to the tabs. You do need a curtain pole to hang these. I really like these valances but want to share a few things. I have very large windows and these valances are longer at 21 inches than most standard length valances. I considered shortening them but ended up hanging my new rods several inches higher in the wall rather than in the wood trim. They had a very strong odor and material very stiff out of the bag. Care instructions were to wash on gentle in cold water on gentle cycle and tumble dry on low and that no ironing would be needed-not at all accurate as they were a wrinkled mess. I love these curtains! The material is 100 cotton but has a nice texture that almost looks like linen. The buttons on the tabs are stitched down. They are not a working button. Although I do not have a curtain rod yet, I think they are substantial enough to hang well. In my picture above they are hanging on my walking cane for reference.
