Easy to put together - it comes well packed. This is a cool retro floor lamp. It was super easy to assemble, the box wasn’t huge or too heavy. The base is weighted well for stability. Pictorial directions were rather sparce (once you realize that one of the parts is already screwed onto the light fixture, and needs to be removed to attach the caged “shade”, it’s easy). Although only 60w, the bare bulbs are extremely bright, so this needs to be a “background” or corner lamp, and not one you look at (a bit blinding). The foot switch is handy as long as this lamp is accessible… I’d planned to put behind a sectional couch, so foot switch wouldn’t be accessible. I recommend this floor lamp!. Mary Beth. I am amazed at the light this lamp throws! A pleasant surprise, the inside of the shade is lined in white fabric that reflects light. The outside beige fabric makes it look classic vintage.
