Absolutely love these curtains! They are thick enough to give privacy while still thin enough to allow soft light thru so I wouldn’t say they are total black out curtains. These curtains are made of a mid-weight polyester in a twill weave. I used an inexpensive iron with steam capability to smooth-out the wrinkles that would naturally occur in a fabric that has been folded and compressed for who-knows-how-long and this worked just fine. I recommend a setting on the high side of "synthetic" (I used a Silk-Wool setting) with plenty of steam. These are not true "blackout" curtains, which have an additional layer which may make it a dry-cleaner expense if you ever need them cleaned. But they are sufficiently light-suppressing for my purposes and washable as well. As you can see in the photos, I have an added blind that I can draw down which by itself helps a little with brightness but not much in full daylight. To better represent the light-suppressing quality of these curtains I did not pull the blind down for the photos. I chose to photograph a south-facing upper story guest bedroom window which gets hit with full sun all year here at our 3500' elevation in Montana so that you can see that, although not quite "blackout", these curtains do a very good job alone at keeping bright sunlight out. Also, the colors represented in the Wayfair product listing are true. I bought the Denim Blue and Sage Green curtains and both colors are as advertised. Not very dark grey, but I love the color. It does bring a tinted shade to the room, it’s better than white. I am pleased with the dark grey. Perfect white curtains. They are a mid-weight (not blackout and not sheer), the fabric feels nice (it's a soft textured weave and not like a cheap shower curtain), the price is right (I needed 6 panels and couldn't justify spending too much).
