This mount is exactly what you see here and it looks very striking in person, especially if you have a newer sleek TV to show off! My old 55" LCD fits perfectly and does not need the wall connecting strap at all; the stand is as sturdy as a tripod should be. The only thing I would mention is that I think it would only really work well if you don't have a cable box and a bunch of other components connected to your TV. It's all about minimalism for this one so if you have perhaps cut the cord and only use a Roku or something like that it's perfect. You wont have a bunch of cords back there to take away from the look. Speaking of cords, I would suggest forgetting all about the little cord managing clips they provide and getting some nice velcro straps to hold one or two cords to that back leg. The clips are a bit flimsy, as you might expect, and are kind of a pain to install. You'll probably also want to think of a cord management solution along the wall/floor. I like putting furniture together but these directions were a little tricky. Maybe because there are many variables - tilt or flat back TV, drywall or brick wall. We had to take it up and off the wall so many times to get the angle right, lowered in the right spot, and cords where they should be. I recommend this TV stand. Came in well packaged box with all parts included and clearly labeled. I had been considering how to get my TV near the window for TV and air antenna placement without blocking my window view or preventing window opening. This worked perfectly and the height adjustments are as advertised. The directions were sequential, had great diagrams and the parts for each sequence was on the top of each page. Before choosing the stand, I had watched a couple utubes and videos about stands to get an idea of what was involved and was able to put it together with this background prep and the good directions. The brake locks work well and it does seem secure. Fedex and Wayfair delivery notifications worked perfectly as always. The price was excellent for the value and fits my needs.
