Also, although the chairs are stated at being 26”H, I’d say they’re closer to 27”H when you include the fact that you’re sitting on the cushion (which doesn’t deflate entirely to the stated 26”H). The velvet is the wrong direction I believe, the grain should be in the direction of sitting to sliding off the chair to stand, and the grain is opposed so you are sliding off against the grain. I do have to say that I had to open them outside in the backyard due to the off gassing. And I let them remain outside in the wind for 2 days before I bring them in the house. This is a solid stool and very well constructed. Keep in mind that it does not fold so it will always be open just as it looks in the photos.. The chrome base is sturdy and quite level. When you touch the metal base, it will not leave fingerprints behind, which is incredible!. The stool sits firmly on the ground, and there is no teetering at all. I like the faux leather seat. I wish that were a little glossier or had a sheen to it because then it would look more like leather. There’s no assembly required at all for this piece and it really could fit in pretty much any decor style and can be used as a foot rest or it would look really beautiful with some books placed on it, but I would not use it as a plant stand or for something heavy.
