I was excited when we received the set. I have to admit it took some getting used to, cooking with these is a bit different than cooking with the nonstick pans we normally have. I would recommend seasoning the pans before using, it helps to avoid sticking. There are so many good things to say about this cooking set! My wife and I bought a stainless steel Cuisinart cooking set 7 years ago and have been wanting to upgrade to something better. Introducing the 10 piece Viking cookware set (refers to 6 potspans, 4 lids). This set is quite different from our stainless steel potspans this set gets heated much more evenly to prevent hot spots in the pan, this set has lids with rubber seals surrounding the glass (our stainless steel lids started keeping water in the lids and we had to stop using them), the lids for these pots are deeper for a more secure fit, these potspans have an antiskid bottom making it harder to knock it off the stove if you bump it, these potspans have a nonstick coating that allows pretty much all foods to fall off when using the faucet sprayer, the connections with the handles feel way sturdier, and these potspans look professional. Please keep in mind this cooking set easily weighs twice as much as our previous Cuisinart stainless steel set so if you have trouble lifting heavy cookware then please avoid this set! The only negative I have for this Viking cookware is that scratches are more noticeable than on stainless steel, so you must be extra careful to not scratch it.. Ryan. I bought this set because of how many pots come with it. I love that I get 3 sauce pots! They stack great, are lightweight, and look really nice. The lids are shallow so they can stack upright in a drawer and don't take up very much space. The bottom is smooth and coated which is a plus because the dishwasher doesn't dull the bottom of the pan, however I have noticed that it is doing it to the top rim of the pans. They are starting to get that dull rainbow look from the dishwasher. So these pans can go it the dishwasher but they will last longer if they are hand washed. The lids are vented on 2 sides. I wish they only vented on one side or the top because when you have 4 things going on the stove at once that's 8 spots where steam comes out!
