Really happy with this purchase; would recommend. The good: heats very efficiently. Once it gets going well, I put about one log in per hour if I have it turned to "high" for airflow and it heats the living room all day in Michigan winter; the room being approx 450' sq. The blower circulates air up from the bottom, around the stove and out the top so it projects the heat quite well. We have another fireplace off the same chimney in the adjoining room. That fireplace will consume in about 3 hours the amount of wood this stove consumes in a day, generating far less usable heat than the stove and about 4 times as much ash. The stove also looks good. The not-as-great: included screws to attach the blower are sheet metal type and at least one size too large. There is no way those things would screw in at all. I got some the next size down at the local hardware. One of those fit ok, the other still would not go in. I had some spare stainless steel ones lying around and found one that worked. But really the metal is just too thick for sheet metal screws to be a good solution here. They should be tapped for machine screws. That would hold the blower more securely. Sometimes also, the blower fan will vibrate a bit. I'll probably wind up taking it apart at some point to see if I can dampen that better. When it happens I just push on the front cover a bit, which works sometimes. Sometimes I turn the fan speed down and then slowly back up to where I want it. It can be a little bit high-pitched when running at high speed. I think that could be a problem for some people. If so, just know that you'll want to turn the fan down and get a bit less heat. It doesn't bother me much except when it starts vibrating.. Palmer Eldritch. East Lansing, MI. 2021-03-06 15:27:39
