The Frigidaire air conditioner works well. It gives me the option to fit the entire unit through a window or not. I chose not. However, the heat that comes from it has to have an outlet, or else the whole house will be hot, so I placed the appliance on a chair and put its back toward an open window with a mesh (in the dining roomliving room--back of the house) so that the heat will blow out, and the cold air will remain inside. This Frigidaire AC is a workable and beautiful solution to my air conditioning problem until I can change the entire furnace. The delivery was horrible. UPS handled the appliance roughly. The box looked beaten up and dented. Luckily, Frigidaire padded its product well. I cannot penalize Frigidaire for the recklessness UPS showed in manhandling the unit.. Frances. just...WOW! We have an older 35-pint model Frigidaire. It's been a workhorse for years! After being flooded by hurricane IDA's remnants, I looked for a 2nd dehumidifier. Saw other popular models, but thought a Frigidaire would be best. Turns out the reviews agree. Some complained of leaks, mold, and grease. NOT my experience. It's perfect! There's a bit of water that drips to the bottom when you pull out the collector to empty. That's it. It's loud on the highest setting. But wow..powerful, or we have a ton of water to clean up that we can't easily see! Since receiving this almost two weeks ago, it's been running 24/7, and we've been emptying an average of 3 FULL bins every day, so what's that... 150 pints?! How can all that water be there? Well, much of it is in the air, so...that's what helps the mold grow. Multiple settings... the air cleaner wanted me to reset it... based on use... it was pretty clean... so I just pushed the button and it was reset. Put it on the CO setting... highest... it blows very warm air around...heats up the basement. It's all fine because that's what we need. Probably using a lot of energy, but it's what we need to get the water out. The odor in the basement is almost gone... and we are forever thankful for this dehumidifier! Meanwhile, the 35-pint is chugging away in the garage. I may swap them around. ALSO... when we do laundry, if this thing is running, the clothes dry in less than 1/2 the time - hung clothes, that is. No mold..no mildew... perfect! So far, no mold..no leaks out the pipe hookup as some stated...but I'll be watching. Couldn't be more pleased with this! NOTE: You can set this much lower than the highest setting...even reduce the fan multiple clicks. It's pretty easy to use...rolls easily - 4 mini-wheels - and has a strong handle, similar to the older 35-pint model we have. It's kinda heavy...but it's a monster of a unit, so that's expected. I'm a big guy - 240 pounds, almost 6 feet tall - and I had to lug it around a bit. But again..it rolls nicely on a smooth floor. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dehumidifier! Through Wayfair, it got here several days earlier than expected - been my experience every time...yay! So ...all good things! Included some photos in this review. You'll see the handle, the air-cleaner/screen - easy to remove - and the water that accumulates when you pull out the bin to empty. And..I should read the manual.. Larry Seltzer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this air conditioner because of the heat pump feature as I suspect many people would. The unit draws about 1300 Watts when the heater first cuts on due to the heating power strip coming on 1st after about a minute the heat pump will engage and the wattage will fluctuate between 600 and 900. The heat with the heat pump working is great. Tonight it got down to 31 degrees and I noticed that the heat pump was not engaging, only the coil and it was around 1300 Watts. The unit was blowing slightly warm but it's not what I would consider adequate heat by any means. I realize that a heat pump loses efficiency when the temperature drops but to have the heat pump not engage in temperatures say below 40, which I assume is the cutoff is disappointing. Perhaps they have engineered it that way so it doesn't freeze up but they could have used a feature to dethaw if that was the case such as it is engineered into some large dehumidifiers. I suspect the cost involved to do so would not be much more however it would certainly increase the usability and value of the product. Other than that particular feature the unit is great, so if you live in a climate where the temperature is mild this unit works exceptional.. Wrightstuff. . 2023-02-07 18:38:14
