These chairs are just as advertised... solid oak, pretty cafe style. They are just the right size and tone for my breakfast table. The main reason I only gave them 4 stars (and considered giving them 3) is due to the deep scuffs that they both have on the front corners of the seat. I assume, like another reviewer, that they are from being stacked roughly in a warehouse, as the scuffs went through the packing material into the wood underneath. The scuff that is pictured is the worst one. The other chair has scuffs on both corners, but they arent as deep. I would return for replacement, but it is such a hassle, and replacements would probably come scuffed, as well. I decided that, for the money, I can live with it or sand it out myself. Very pretty chair. It's very different. We purchased in the copper color as an accent chair to lend a modern edge against a midcentury walnut credenza. Please note some minor assembly is required to put the legs on, but not a big deal, that took all of ten minutes. Although the chair is pretty, I'm not sure if it's quite right for the space.
