Ordered washer/dryer pair and stacking bracket direct from LG. Price was same as 'big box' stores, plus no additional charge for delivery, setup, and haul away which was great. However, bracket delivered separate, and delivery/setup contractor would not install due to bracket not being included on their truck (company policy). Installation was relatively painless, but would have been ideal if I did not have to do it myself. Delivery contractors were quite friendly, and did leave the necessary hose connections. Washer and dryer are great. Huge capacity in a standard 27 inch width. Very quiet compared to my previous units (non-LG). The doors, hinges, and closures are all solid. Washer will 'final spin' the clothes well on 'Medium' setting. Also, the bottom of the washer tub slopes down towards the back so that water drains better and will hopefully reduce mildew buildup on the door gasket. This was an issue with my last front load washer. With the Dryer, I tried different drying temperatures and landed on the 'High' heat setting as my go-to for standard loads if I want to get drying completed within 50 to 90 minutes. That's fine. I figure medium and low heat will handle smaller, more delicate loads without excessive time or damage to the material. Overall, I really like this washer/dryer pair. We switched to this top loader after using a front loader of another brand for the last 10-15 years and so glad we made the switch! The tub is HUGE and holds a ton of clothes. We were worried about clothes getting caught in the agitator like it used to back in the old days but the design has really improved and that hasn’t been an issue at all. We also love how customizable each load is AND I am newly obsessed with the smart feature and being able to set loads on my phone, seeing how much time is left, and get alerts when the load has finished. Nothing lasts forever and all things mechanical will wear out. Repairs will be required at some point in time. But the honeymoon was too short. A friend of ours has an LG washer and dryer that are 10 years old. They run like champs. So when it came time to get a new washer we decided to try LG. We purchased our washer June 2022. This would be our 1st LG product. We were thrilled with how it worked. It was quiet and cleaned the clothes better than any other washer. Then the noise started. At 1st it was an occasional small squeaking sound. Like a dolphin off in the distance. Soon the dolphin was at our doorstep wanting to come inside. It turns out the sound was the shaft seal between the transmission and the drum. The sad thing is the sound began with only 3 months of use. To begin, I wasn't planning on purchasing this washer; I had one that seemed to be working just fine. But overnight the motor seized up and here we are. My previous washing machine was also a LG but it lasted 13+ years, so I'm OK with replacing it. It worked hard for a long time. I love all the features this machine comes with, but there is a low-grade musty smell that I can't quite get rid of - I've run tub clean, added bleach, wiped down the drum, leave the door and detergent tray open, but it's still there.... I still have few more things to try, but this should not be an issue with a BRAND NEW washer! Also, I cannot get it to pair with the ThinQ app. I've tried multiple times, looked up YouTube videos to follow the process and still it won't connect. Nothing major but if I have the feature, I would like to use it! I own quite a few LG appliances and am very happy overall, but this takes away from what could be a great experience. To be fair, the washer does a great job washing. The clothes are almost dry when I take them out and it has reduced my dryer time considerably. I haven't tried the steam settings on the washer, but I probably will purchase the matching dryer when the old one gives out. The steam feature of the dryer will be helpful for the household. Oh, and there appears to be no volume control like my old washer. My laundry is right outside my son's bedroom and I like to run a load of clothes early in the morning and feel like it's loud enough to wake him up. Both my washer and dryer allowed me to turn the sound very low or even off. This might be a feature that is available, but if so, it's not easy to find!
