Homework takes center stage thanks to the clutter-free, all-white desk space. Andrea, of Oh Dear Drea, created this dedicated corner for her daughter to think and create without distractions.
Hanging plants create a visual barrier between the desk and activity in the living room, while art is mounted to the side and above a child’s eye level. A hanging light further increases focus on the task at hand. Perhaps the best addition is the woven storage bin, providing Mom with a seat when she helps with homework.
Editors' Tip
Just because a child’s space is in a main room of the house, like the living room or kitchen, doesn’t mean it can’t be chic. Skip the brightly-colored, juvenile options, and stick to items that fit your home’s decor. Bonus: your kids can grow into your picks and use them for years to come!
