A Bust.

Steve the teacher from Medina, Ohio

I upgraded from the $99 model, which came with a manual apparently written by a 7th grader. This one's no exception. I'm [$] down and the manual stinks. Know your longitude and latitude? Be prepared to look it up on-line--not as easy as it sounds. Additionally, know other points of reference in the Earth's landscape, including days and times away from particular zone lines, along with reference points among heavenly bodies. This product claims ease of use, which is why I purchased it. It isn't. The manual is wafer thin and offers an on-line back-up. I went there and saw ads only. So, once again, I am back to phoning California to speak to someone at iOptron to see if I can actually enjoy the experience of stargazing with a telescope. It should be fun, rewarding, and most of all, easy. Sadly, it has only been a frustrating hassle for me. I tried to operate this telescope by following the computer control--far too many commands without explanation. This thing's like the old VHS VCR's of the '80s, where nobody knew how to program anything. iOptron: Hire a good writer!
