Powell Kitchen Carts & Islands

This kitchen island is spectacular. I recently had granite countertops and new backsplash put into my kitchen. I had a space in my kitchen that needed a large scale kitchen island and I chose to purchase one instead of having one built in. There is a video on Youtube that shows you all the features this island has. It has a removable knife rack that allowed me to store all my knives and toss the round knife rack on the counter. I use the ends of the island to display books, standing them upright so the pretty covers show instead of storing spices like the photo shows. I had a lot of contractors in and out of my house during the remodel and most thought this was a built in island as it is "furniture/cabinet" quality and not some little junky kitchen cart. Every single construction worker/contractor raved about the island and wanted to know where I got it. If the color scheme and size fit your kitchen I highly recommend this island. I also love the fact I can fit two bar stools under one side, I did not purchase the matching bar stools in the photo, I already had some that had a high back and they look great. This cart is fantastic. I use it as a kitchen table for me and my husband. The drop leaf is larger than most. And the work surface is very convenient. It is an island in my small kitchen and I push it up against the wall when not in use.The storage space, spice rack and garbage pail features are a plus. It was easy to put together and looks great. It is just the right size for a small kitchen. It is taller than some others I looked at, which is what I wanted because the counters in my kitchen are just a little bit taller than builder's standard. It is very good quality and well constructed. It is better than expected when it is all put together (a nice surprise since I am not an online shopper for things like this that I can't see and touch), but anyone would like it I think--even if your taste is on the expensive side and you are very particular--this island is just perfect."..."  Read more
