Hi Wayfair readers! It’s Aileen and Ellen from the wedding blog Love & Lavender, and we couldn’t be more excited for our post today…all about fall weddings! Fall is definitely one of our favorite seasons—we love the crisp air outside, curling up by a fire indoors, eating caramel corn and pie, drinking apple cider, and of course wearing scarves and boots and lots of cozy layers! If you’re getting married in the fall, there’s lots of inspiration to be found in nature, and so many creative ideas that work beautifully with this season. Some people love the traditional fall look with orange pumpkins and fall leaves. Others may want a softer, more romantic look. We’ve put together a few different boards, each with a different mood and aesthetic, incorporating some of our favorite fall wedding inspiration.

Harvest Fall
One way to go about a fall wedding is to embrace what makes this season great. If you’re worried about it looking cliched or cheesy, rest assured that you can definitely include your favorite fall elements in a really beautiful way. Make chair swags for you and your mister by stringing apples together and attaching kraft paper luggage tags. Wrap yarn around nails for table numbers with a cozy feel. Tie silverware together with twine and use burlap as a cheap alternative to tablecloths. For a rustic look, go with an unfrosted cake decorated with more apples. Apple butter or other seasonal goodies make great favors (everyone loves something edible)! If you’re worried about the chill, feel free to layer on a cardigan, jacket, or boots. Not only will you stay warm, but you’ll look super cute as well!

Romantic Fall
Perhaps you’re getting married in fall but you’re more drawn to soft, romantic colors as opposed to the typical reds and oranges of fall. Never fear; you can use your favorite pastels and still have a wedding that feels seasonally appropriate! We love the idea of using birch rounds (with the table numbers stamped on them), book pages formed into hearts, strips of fabric as your ceremony backdrop, and paper doilies as chargers. Use pumpkins in lighter shades to line the ceremony aisle. Caramel apples can double as a delicious favor and an adorable place card. Our favorite idea is to have your bridesmaids wear mismatched dresses in soft neutral shades, layered with pretty shawls to keep them warm.

Country Fall
For the laid back, down home feeling to your special day look no further! With a barn as the setting for the big event decorate with wild flowers, and bunting. Hay bales with quilts laid over them make the perfect seating for your guests during the ceremony, while long wood tables and chairs set the mood for the reception. Table settings consisting of vintage plates, silverware, and a cinnamon stick really spice it up!  The bride and bridesmaids all wearing flower crowns add to the country feel.

Wood Fall
Are you the type of couple that loves walks in the woods, camping, and the smell of pine trees? This is the the fall wedding for you. Use the natural beauty of the woods as your ceremony backdrop and log benches as seating for your guests. Decorate with nature—pine cones can make great props or centerpieces. Wood rounds are perfect for table settings, add a pumpkin to give it an extra fall feel. Cut up logs for cake stands—cheap, and easy!

What’s your fall wedding type?
