With lots of engaged friends and impending weddings (punctuated by our own this fall), countless bridal showers dance across the summer months of my iCalendar. I look forward to wedding season for many reasons, but some of my favorites are champagne, macaroons, and pretty presents.

I love the delight on my friends’ faces as they open beautifully-wrapped china and bakeware. Wedding registries take the guesswork out of gift-giving, but they sometimes also eliminate the element of surprise. I go out of my way to add to my gift something unique that has been chosen especially for the bride.

 But what to give?

One of my most outgoing girlfriends loves to bake and offers glorious pastries at at her frequent brunch gatherings. For her, I can’t imagine a gift more perfect than a KitchenAid stand mixer in a pretty, feminine shade. Isn’t this pistachio-colordarling? I think I’m head-over-heels for the soft pink version you’ll find in my picks below.

Which is your favorite?

Another friend is a self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur. She can always be found at a  coffee shop and is on a first-name basis with nearly every barista in the city of Boston. For her I plan to snap-up some goodies for crafting the perfect cup. A set of pretty ceramic mugs? A fine grinder? A stylish French press? A coffee aficionado can never have too many dark-roast accoutrements.

Much more personal, but always appreciated, are gifts of bedding. A stunning duvet cover with matching Euro shams or a luxurious cashmere throw liven up a room—and keep newlyweds cozy throughout the year. If the request for bedding has been filled by the bride’s relatives, a pair of bedside lamps are another wonderful gift for the new nest.

Do you have many bridal showers this summer or are you a bride-to-be? What is your favorite gift to give? I would love to hear!
