Taste. Inspiration. To me, the two go hand in hand. And are meant to be shared. As a freelance writer and photographer, I share my memorable tastes and inspiration through my food blog, Kitchen Confidante. What started as a way to preserve my heritage and family history has evolved into what I consider the ultimate archive—precious family recipes and photography that can be passed from generation to generation. Along the way, sharing my stories and food has become a way to connect with a world of people passionate about food, from fellow bloggers to chefs, artisans, and wine makers.
Food transcends time and place. It is beautiful. The food I share pulls from platefuls of memories. I was born and raised in New York, and have lived in amazing cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, where I explored some of our country’s best regional cuisines.
My family’s zest for travel taught me early on that exceptional food can come from anywhere: my grandmother’s Philippine kitchen, the bazaars of Istanbul, the street fairs of the Midwest, or the fanciest restaurants in New York City.
These days, I am busy as a mother of two and wife to one. And I feel very blessed to call the Bay Area home, where the culinary culture is very rich. I will never tire of learning about the food and wine that is created in my own backyard.
Nothing makes me happier than to share my stories, and now I am extremely excited to join the talented panel of Wayfair contributors for the My Way Home blog! Not only can I share recipes and inspiration, I can also recommend specific products from the vast Wayfair site. I do believe that when you have the right tools, cooking can be easier and so much more fun. When you’re having fun in the kitchen, the food always tastes better!
For the launch of My Way Home, I am excited to share two recipes with you: one sweet and one savory. My Maple Glazed Apple Blossoms are perfect for when you are craving a bite of apple pie, without the fuss of rolling out dough, and my family’s favorite Guacamole.
I’m looking forward to what’s in store for My Way Home, and can’t wait to see what my fellow contributors will share each month. Let’s all learn together, shall we?
