"Hi Ned, This shipped flat; and a tool is included for assembly. You need to simply use the enclosed bolts and nuts to create the box frame; and then use the enclosed screws to attach the top wood plank section."

Looks good, but some problems with assembly & finish

Our Bowery Cocktail Table arrived on time and had the cool distressed finish we were expecting based on the photos. However, the wood was SO distressed that it had small wires poking out of it and the makings of a thousand splinters. Since we have small children who stand at the coffee table to play games, color, etc., we had to sand down the wood and brush on a couple coats of flat polyurethane to reduce the potential for injuries. Still looks good and is much safer now. The other hitch was that the metal frame was not attached to the table top, and there were only 2 too-short screws floating loose in the box. We used standard wood screws to attach the fame to the table top, then assembled the legs and bottom shelf according to the instructions, without any further issues. The table now looks good and seems sturdy, should suit our needs.
