PRICE/VALUE: I recommend checking out WayfairRugs if only to get a sense for prices on the market as you comparison shop. The price I paid for this rug purchased from Wayfair was competitive, [...]. Because braided rugs are reversible, you are in a sense getting two rugs for the price of one. I don't mind paying up front for a quality product that will give me years of good wear.SUPPORT YOUR FELLOW SMALL PEOPLE: To my knowledge, Colonial Mills rugs are American classics still made in the United States by an American company employing Americans and legal immigrants.COLORS: This particular Russet was on clearance sale, and I did worry a bit at first that it would be too drab. But the colors are a nice range of browns laced with taupe and a light gray. They blend well with the fireplace bricks and the painted wood floor in my apartment.MAINTENANCE: This 100% wool braided area rug can be rolled up easily and taken to the cleaners. You can have it moth-proofed by a reputable rug cleaner, or open the end of its plastic wrap after it has been cleaned and pour some mothballs down there if you plan to keep it in storage for the warm summer months. Keep the vacuum cleaner brushes on a higher setting so that you do not abrade the braids prematurely! I bought Safavieh wool rugs before, and I like this brand. They are thick and heavy, and the patterns are generally better in real life than on the screen. I bought this rug for the living room (9'6" by 13'6"). I was aware of the fact that it was very subdued and would not stand on its own, and I chose it to fit into the room design with the furniture and walls. When it arrived, I was pleased to find that the colours were not quite as "dirty" as in the pictures, and the pattern is actually quite pleasant and to look at (and distinct enough to see). It did everything I wanted it to, plus it looked nicer than I expected. My partner was not too keen on my choice initially, but upon the arrival, he was very impressed himself. I have got to say, when a guy keeps repeating how pleased he is with the rug looks and feel, I know he is not lying. Quality: in my experience, Safavieh wool rugs shed fiber in the beginning. Be prepared to vacuum and dust often in the first month. After a month, the shedding subsides. I did not mind this, but if you are allergic or sensitive to wool, you may want to go with some other material. My son is somewhat sensitive, but with one quick daily vacuuming, it is quite manageable. In long term, the quality of my other Safavieh rugs proved to be quite good. The only thing I can think of is that when I lift them up to vacuum underneath (which happens maybe 2-3 times a year), there is some white dust on the floor which seems to be coming from the rug. So far, this did not affect the integrity of the rugs in the least. I would buy other Safavieh rugs in the future. I think they are extremely well priced with no impact to the quality. I am sure there are better rugs - but the price tag reflects their quality too. Bonus: this very large rug was packed (not rolled up) compactly enough to fit into my small car. Purchased this rug for my living room after shopping MANY rugs for a long time. It is soft to walk on and so far hasn't shed too bad for a wool rug. Many reviewers complain of shedding of wool rugs, but this is just part of owning wool rugs, which make up for it in their quality, beauty and durability. The colors are extremely soft and muted. The designs are not as bold against the background as pictured. It has a washed, faded look, which I love. The brown is a true chocolate, not a cinnamon like my monitor showed (think the color of hot cocoa). My only negative comment about this is that it is advertised as a "Green" rug. There is not one green thread in this rug. The border and accents on the floral design are TEAL BLUE, which is what I was looking for. If you are hoping to achieve a green color scheme this isn't the rug. It is more of a torquoise and brown scheme. It is beautiful in my room and I can't believe the price on Wayfair for a rug of this quality!"..."  Read more

This rug was hand tufted in China. China makes some of the best tufted wood yarn rugs in the world. This rug is world class and has very high quality. This rug is so elegant; the colors are very vivid and detailed. It is just down right beautiful. When I look at this rug, it gives me a feeling of looking at a major piece of master art. It is the Momeni New Wave brand. This is the only brand that I will buy. I have two of the same identical rugs. One is 5 feet 3 inches by 8 feet and the other one is 7 feet 6 inches by 9 feet 6 inches. Please note that all best quality wool rugs shed to some degree but after 2 to 3 vacuuming, the shedding was no longer an issue."..."  Read more
