not a platform bed, but very nice Product Review I really like the bed, it's nicely finished and it's real solid wood and looks great. it's very easy to put together and didn't take that long. i bought it thinking that i can use it as a platform bed without having to get a box spring but i think we'll have to get a 5 inch box spring because the bed doesn't come with enough mattress support, it only has 3 weak pieces of wood to support the mattress which is not good enough. Service Review the delivery was great. the delivery guy helped me get the bed all the way into the apartment when he didn't have to because we got the free shipping back of truck. |

Beautiful Bed So far, I have been very satisfied with this bed. It matches my "chocolate" finish furniture from West Elm very well. The color is definitely less red and a little darker brown than what is shown in the picture. My mattress is a 12" memory foam, so I didn't want to use a box spring with this bed. The "slat system" consisted of 3 slats, and the center one had a vertical support. If you don't want to use a box spring, you can do what I did: I got 8 2x4s, plus a few pieces of Plywood to cover them, and that is now my "box spring" system. The total price for that was around [$]. It works very well. Overall, I am happy with this bed, but I would prefer that it came with a slat system sufficient for use without a box spring. |

[...] The bed arrived on time. It was easy to assemble and looks great. I was concerned with the strength of the frame. The picture does not represent it well. It is, however, holding up well. No squeeks yet. It is used as a primary bed. |
