In order to rotate my super heavy 32" TV before, and to prevent my TV stand from getting damaged, I placed a towel underneath the TV, but it took a considerable amount of force to rotate it, not to mention that my linen closet was always short one towel.
Now due to the wonders of steel ball bearings, I can easily rotate my TV like a Lazy Susan with the slightest amount of pressure. If only the tracks on my closet doors would operate so easily! Just make sure to position the swivel base with the angled corners in the back.
I find this model is extremely sturdy and well made. This particular model is black, solid hardwood (not MDF), and has a slight wood grain appearance which isn't shiny, so it blends in well with the rest of my decor.
