Easy to set up. Shipped promptly. Stylish. Efficient use of space. Can set CDs in straight on or tipped up at an easy-reading angle. Would have liked a more honey colored finish for natural oak. Dowels could have been a bit smoother. Overall, satisfied with product.

I had been looking for a good method of cd storage. Did not want binders as enjoy reading lyrics, etc. This cd rack works perfectly. Much better than the rotating racks I had been using. Certainly nicer than any cheap plastic junk. It fits nicely inside an old wardrobe, but would be okay out in the open. A little pricey, but very functional, sturdy and relatively attractive.j

The Wood Shed 504 CD Storage Racks are the perfect storage system for anyone's large CD collection. The solid wood construction makes them very sturdy. The dowel rack design makes for very easy storing and retrieval of your favorite CD's. It also allows for easier identification of which CD's you are looking for. Since Wood Shed makes a variety of racks, there is a rack to fit any need.

The solid wood construction was exactly what I was looking for in a CD storage rack

I did not attach the included feet. Instead, I placed the stand behind my bedroom door against the baseboard and tilted the top back against the wall, giving it a slight angle. I secured it there with two pieces of high quality double-sided tape and placed a couple of nickels under the front of the side panels as shims. This way it takes up only dead space in my room and doesn't interfere with the door (which hits the very bottom of one side panel.) The dividers can be easily removed (contrary to another reviewer's comment further down) by simply squeezing the dowels (the rods) together slightly. The only con with this product is the somewhat rough finish of the dowels. Use 220 grit sandpaper and with just a couple of swipes it's smooth. All in all I like this rack.

Sturdy, well constructed, and easy to put together. Had a smaller unit bought in early 80's & this unit meets and maybe exceeds it's quality. Great to see quality still at the fore front of products made in the USA and at a competive price. Thank you

I have a ton of CDs, and despite my efforts to digitize my library, I still need storage solutions. Increasingly, it's become difficult to find quality stained wood CD racks, that fit the bill. I am quite pleased with my purchase of the 504 CD rack, from Wayfair. It has more than met my expectations and needs. Having said all that, I do wish the frame and dowels were a tad thicker and stronger. I also wish the dividers were bars with a nook on one end, that laid flat on the dowels, instead of the current square "pinch" designed dividers. At least one more, included, divider would be nice, too. Finally, the smell of stain took a lil' while to dissipate. Minor complaints. All-in-all, aces.

This is the latest of serveral wood storage racks i have purchased for CD's. I like this storage system it is convenient and stores a fair amount of CD's in a small space. I have a few of these combined with a couple of other manufactures wooden shelves and they fit nicely. I'm not crazy about the fact that the stain seems a little greasy or has some sort of film to it. I wipe it down a few times before putting CD's on the rack. Also seems like the dowls could be sanded a bit better before stain is applied. they seem to be a bit splintery and rough. But overall a good CD storage system for the money.

This unit is sturdy and has great storage capacity for the price. The two negatives I have are:1) Would have been nice to include more "bookends" to keep CDs from falling over (two are included, but you have nine shelves on this unit). In this kind of rack there's nothing to stop CDs from simply dropping out of the unit if they fall sideways and I've had few cases crack as a result. I ended up putting makeshift "bookends" on the shelves to prevent that from happening. You can call the manufacturer to request more, but you have to pay for them (there is a volume discount if you buy a lot of them). 2) The dowels and the "bookends" were not properly sanded. I was surprised how rough the dowels were and after getting a few splinters while filling the rack I removed all the CDs I just loaded and hand sanded every dowel in the rack until I was satisfied they were smooth to the touch. The problem with that is, of course, that I removed the finish that I requested. The same was true with the two "bookends" that come with the unit. The edges were very sharp, as if they were not sanded at all after being cut. Again, hand sanding them solved the problem but that removes the finish from the areas I sanded.I needed additional capacity so I ordered a second one. Hopefully the first was a mistake that slipped by and the second will be properly made. For now, I'm giving this unit a "3". If the second one is properly finished I'll add a second review for a "5". If I find it's made the same way, I'll have to assume they're simply not made properly and give it a "1'". [...] if these particular units aren't properly made then I can't give them a good review.I'm also recommending this unit based on the sturdiness and the capacity. However, if I am forced to give a "1" for the next purchase, I'll be unable to recommend it.

These racks are perfect for storing shoes. I've been using media racks for my shoes for years.
