I recently obtained a new position which came with a new laptop and the opportunity to purchase the Clark and Mayfield leather laptop tote I have been eyeing on this site. Getting the tote alone was worth going through all those interviews!
I knew I loved the tote before it even arrived but upon opening the box and being greeted with first the smell of high quality soft leather and then the fine contrast stitching and chrome buckle, I fell in love all over again. I debated for a long time between the red and the black and ultimately chose black, for which I am eternally grateful. It looks fabulous.
It is the perfect size for a 15" laptop and for a work bag in general; it fits my shoulder and body like no other bag I've found. For my new MacBook Air (which is a little thinner than the standard 15" laptop), I've gotten a separate sleeve so it fits snugly in the center laptop compartment. There is plenty of room for the mouse and power cord to slide right in on either side of the compartment without the bag becoming bulky or awkwardly shaped. The outer flap pocket has compartments for pens, business or credit cards, my cell phone, and enough room for my rather large wallet and sunglasses, making this the perfect every-day bag and also ideal for travel. You can remove the laptop and put it in the airline bin in about 10 to 15 seconds...other items remain secure.
The top zipper was successful at keeping out both rain and snow and the beauteous mud marks due to our recent thaw have wiped off easily with a damp cloth.
Other bags seethe with jealousy upon our passing. It's so lovely that my boyfriend keeps trying to negotiate one for himself (if it was a little less feminine, he claims he would have stolen mine already). He's fussy so that is saying a lot.

I am still giving this bag a good review because it is a great bag & I still intend to use it... BUT I wanted to let other people know that it is NOT intended for a 16" laptop. I own a laptop with a screen of 15.6". So when I purchased this bag I thought that it would be roomy for my computer. I say that this bag is intended for a smaller laptop because the super padded section of the bag does not fit my laptop -- BUT the bag is very roomy in front of this sleeve part & this is where my laptop fits (just not as padded). Just like the other reviews -- this bag has room for everything. Lots of pockets & plenty of organized spaces for everything. Which I thought was hard to believe comparing the small dimensions to other bags I was looking at. ALSO there are smaller "tote bag" handles that hide inside pockets on either side of the opening... These handles are small enough for carrying by hand but long enough to comfortably put over your shoulder. That was a pleasant surprise. I would suggest this bag -- but I would think about it if you really want your computer to fit in the padded sleeve. It is probably more for a 14" or smaller laptop."..." Read more

Pinder BagsPinder Bags THIN Macbook Pro 17

I am a 6'2" 300lb GUY. I have 2, 13.5" small Pinder bags which house my netbook and my tablet. they're great! I've had them for a couple years they are durable and what I like about them is that I have a large, targus roller bag that I can place the bags on their sides next to each other in the back un-padded compartment and they are safe. When I get to my destination I can pull either/both and carry them in their bag(s) without having to lug the other stuff around! They also fit nicely into a large soft-side brief case I have two Pinder 17" laptops bags (one from work and one for photography) one slips into the actual compartment and the other slips into the front file compartment. I can carry whichever into whatever meeting or coffee shop. (I did get one black (work) and one brown (photography) of these so I don't accidentally take my photography machine (which has none of my company's software/info) to a business setting. I also have one of each color of the 13.5" so I know which I"m taking. (brown tablet, black netbook) I am clumsy, I am awkward, these women's bags are tough, well-organized, strong and durable--like women! They are slender and imminently easy to carry--you almost forget you have it with you! :) Interestingly, my male colleagues haven't figured out these are designer women's bags--because though stylish, they are, with the right suit nondescript (black). They able to handle plugs and small back up hard-drives As a Cleveland Browns Fan, the Brown has an organge-y lining that I've managed to pass off that way in more casual settings. :) My mother loves the pink one I got her for her new lappy! She likes it because she can slip it into her roller bag for flights (she carries her clothes in the roller bag so it's not clunking around in there with books or shoes or other crazy stuff--so don't try it that way!) and only have one bag to deal with. If she needs to check under on a regional jet she can pull it. (I have a large cloth grocery bag in the front pocket of my Targus for those rare times it has to go under so that my 4 machines get pulled, placed in the bag temporarily and fitting nicely under the seat in front of me.) Can you tell that I love these bags? My order from Wayfair is for my Dad... and is Pinder bag 6... :) I unabashedly recommend these."..." Read more

My criteria in looking for a rolling laptop case for my 17" Macbook Pro was 1) it had to be as light as possible, 2) it had to have a strap that fit over the handle of a suitcase, 3) it had to fit easily in the aisle of a plane and go under the seat, 4) it had to look professional, so a wheeled backpack wouldn't do. It's a given that it has to wheel easily and be well made and have good padding.
This fit all my criteria. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was that I wanted a case that was just large enough to hold the laptop and a few attachments and have wheels and a handle. I didn't want extra space (and weight) for clothing, but I could not find a case with wheels like that. I actually ended up having to use the extra space for clothing though so it worked out on my last trip. If you don't have clothing and you want to use the large clothing compartment for other electric gadgets, it would be nice to have pockets in it so things don't fly around
My other wish is that it would come in some color besides black!
A problem that I had was that when I put it over the handle of my 25" suitcase, the handle of the suitcase wasn't long enough, and I couldn't get my hand in between the top of the laptop and suitcase handle. I actually bought a new 25" suitcase (I wanted a spinner anyway) that had a long enough handle. I had to take the laptop case to a store and try it on the handles of all the bags to see which ones had a long enough handle.
This case is well made, it has good padding and wheels easily and the zippers are good. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because it didn't have any pockets in the large compartment and didn't have a choice of colors."..." Read more
