Really Great Quality
Jessica from Madison, WI – Verified Buyer
I searched high and low for a kitchen cart that would fit in a very specific spot, yet give me much more counter space than I currently have. The leaves that fold down were such a selling point, and this fits perfectly. Here are some highlights: 1. This is solid! No cheap plywood or plastic parts. The hardware is the quality that you would buy for your own kitchen cabinets. That said, it's a little heavy. You'll probably need a second person to help you carry and assemble this. 2. Instructions are quite simple if you have ever put together a piece of do-it-yourself furniture. It took me about an hour from opening the box to wheeling it to the kitchen. 3. Did I mention the fold-down leaves These are incredible, and they feel like they are very sturdy. 4. Shipping was unbelievably fast, and the Fed-Ex person put it in my garage. Kudos to them! The only two negative things I have to say are that the wheels don't stay in the legs if you tip the cart...meaning, the holes are a little larger than the pegs. Maybe glue would help It wheels just fine, though. The other is that there were two pieces where it was clear that wood was repaired (maybe imperfect wood that some sort of plaster was put on and sanded down) however, these were on the undersides of the two cabinet pieces, and so no one will ever see them. They do not affect the structure of the product, so I have no problem with it. This is a great little cart that looks like it costs way more than it does. Can't recommend enough!

I love this cart! It is sturdy and VERY versatile. I originally purchased it to use it as (of all things) a workstation for recording music at home on my laptop. Seriously! And I'll tell you, it is PERFECT for that, because with the two ends locked in place, it has plenty of room for the laptop, plus two monitor speakers. In addition to that application, I've also used it for its "intended" purpose (kitchen island). And most recently, due to a move that required me to buy and assemble about 20 different pieces of furniture, it has proved MOST useful as a work bench. It is a cart of all trades! haha. Can't emphasize enough how awesome this thing is. I've put it through heck and back, and it is holding up beautifully. If you're thinking about getting it, do yourself a favor and pull the trigger. Highly recommended. Oh, and BTW, Wayfair's customer service is 2nd to none. So you'll have that going for you too ;-))
Wonderful addition to a small Kitchen

I bought this Cart for my Sister who has very little counter space in her Kitchen. It was delivered in a timely manner and very well packed. Assembly was very easy following the enclosed instructions. The quality of the materials were way beyond what we expected.....very well built. It fits perfect in the middle of her Kitchen and is very easily rolled away when not needed. She has emailed me several times since and always ends her e-mails with telling me how much she is enjoying the little cart and how it has improved her wanting to be in her Kitchen preparing meals. She can wash her veges at the sink, place them on the Cart to chop up, turn around and wheel it over to the stove and start preparing her meal. Thank you Basics for a great product!!!!
holes for screws need to be a little larger
Wendy from Durham, NC – Verified Buyer
I would give this 5 stars but the holes for the screws need to be a little larger, this made putting the island together much more difficult. I'm a woman, without a lot of strength and couldn't have done it. My husband put it together. He said to put the screws in the holes and make them bigger before putting it together to make it much easier. I love the island now that it is together. Would have liked it just a tad taller, but it is the perfect size for my area. I have a tiny kitchen, and no counter space beside my stove, that is beside a window. I needed something that expanded, as I have a pantry I need to get to. So this is PERFECT! Thought we would have to make something! So really, only marks off because of it was hard to put together. 4.5 stars would have been better!
Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for!

I live in NY and have a small kitchen. I had no kitchen counter space. I was looking for more counter space that could be place in the middle of the kitchen or to a wall. After reading so many reviews I decided to go for this item. It is exactly what I was looking for. It can be place in a corner (front of the window/wall) or I can move it to middle of the kitchen with all leafs open and use it as a kitchen island. The material looks very good, doesn't look cheap at all. Instructions said it needs 2 people to assemble. I'm a girl, 100pounds and I assemble it all together by myself, yes, Im so proud, lol! Some people said drawer and cabinet space was small, I think is great size. The only con is I wish the top (not the drop leafs) should have been ceramic, stainless steel top instead of wood, so I dont get it scratch, but I bought a template cutting glass board and it looks awesome. Totally worth it !

Assembly was absolutely horrible. Whoever wrote the directions definitely did not put this together. They simply did not work. Cart is very nice once assembled. Drawer is very difficult to open but can hopefully be greased. Assembly would have been less painful if it wasnt all hex screws. But overall I really like the product just a pain to put together.
Decent quality, poor instructions
Cassandra from Paso Robles, CA – Verified Buyer
The instructions for this piece are not very user-friendly. Some of the pieces are pretty flimsy, and although I ended up putting it together correctly in the end, one side is still a little wobbly--the screws are all as tight as they can go. Overall, it's a nice piece, it looks good, and it's a pretty good value.

This cart is perfect! We are able to store so much in here: my Vitamix, a Breville blender, a crockpot, a nutribullet, bottles, a smaller hand blender, and other containers, in addition to the drawer. We use it every night for cooking to expand our counter space and the wheels make it even better. One of my best purchases, ever!!!
Excellent Value and Construction!!!
Anthony from Farmingdale, NJ – Verified Buyer
We love the cart! It is really well-built and sturdy, and almost all solid wood - the only exceptions being the bottom side panels, which are composite. I put it together in about an hour with nothing but the allen wrench it came with and a rubber mallet to tap in the wood plugs over the visible screw holes. The instructions are visual with hardly any written steps. Personally, I liked this a lot. I saw a couple of reviews that said the instructions were not good, but I suspect these folks are not mechanically inclined and need words. If that's you, just get a friend or family member to help you out, then test the cart with a bottle of wine and a couple of glasses :)
Just What I Wanted!
Emmalee from Rapid City, SD – Verified Buyer
This product is just what I wanted - something to fit into a tight kitchen space that could add a bit of countertop, storage, and double as a table if needed. I bought bar stools and flip up the ends - perfect since it is just me usually. The instructions for assembly say two persons required but one stubborn person managed to do it in 3 hours total. I found it to be pretty simple, although there are a lot of pieces! All in all, it's a great product - I saw many when shopping that offer the same things for a much larger price. This one is a keeper.
