I was expecting furniture that was more polished, but this furniture has some raw edges. Also, you need a large amount of floor space to assemble this, and it is much easier to assemble if you have a screwdriver with the right kind of head (allen wrench), otherwise its difficult to get the bolts in tight. Lastly, the top shelf is so small it is almost not even usable. I thought the top shelf would be deeper.

The Fed Ex Ground delivery was AWFUL. I purchased 2 sets of these and they delivered all 6 boxes to the wrong building. This is made worse by the fact that they put them on the 5th floor of the wrong building! Fortunately, the people that received the packages called to let me know where my packages were, but I still had to figure out how to transport 6 rather large boxes, in the rain, to the correct building. I am hesitant to order anything else because of this experience.

I just downsized from a three BR plus office house to a 1BR plus "alcove" condo, so finding space saving and attractive shelving units was a priority. I have the desk with two side shelves in my alcove and an additional shelf at the end of the hall. May buy the wine cabinet, but last time i looked, it was not available from the same lower cost producer, and I don't want to spend the money to buy it from the fancy mall retailer. The shelves are sturdier than they look, due to the way each shelf sits in a cut out groove on the standing rails. I have them loaded with books, my printer, files and papers. They don't sag or wobble. I will note that some friends have the more expensive version of these shelves and theirs are quite a bit thicker and heavier. But these are workign fine for me at a much lower price. I put them together myself, which is good. It's possible for one person to put them together. But the process was a real challenge. If you can find a friend to help hold the shelves while you are working with the ridiculous little hex wrench they send, that would make it lots more efficient. (The hex wrench can't spin more than half way because of the back of the shelf, so you half to turn it a little then take the tool out and put it back in at the top...) Also, pay attention to which side is the front and which is top vs. bottom. I put the first one together and when I finally put it up against the wall, the shelves were upside down! (OK, so maybe that was just me, but still, you have to pay attention!) Anyway, I'm quite satisfied, and the shelves were a LOT cheaper here than elsewhere.

Excellent use for the living room or home office. I'm very satisfied.

I really enjoy this combo bookshelf and desk. It was easy to assemble and looks very classy in my house.
