The positive thing about this shelf is that it looks great, once you're finished putting it together. But it isn't easy - it requires two people. Also, given the price, I expected better quality of the materials.

This is a good bookcase to use in front of / below a window. It stores a fair amount of books without blocking the view or obstructing access to most windows.
Very poor assembly.

I was pretty disappointed with the sturdiness of this shelf. I ordered two bookcases to place side by side behind my sofa. The screw accessories do not stay in place and caused a hassle in assembling because the boards kept falling apart. When I thought we got one piece settled and went to grab another piece, one of the boards split apart and the walnut finish was torn. So much for putting it together. This was not worth all the trouble it caused us!

A tad fifficult to assemble....but, for the price, a good purchase.
Nice book shelf

This book shelf is great for a small area just to hold those extra books, picture frames, trinkets, etc...BUT I like using it behind a sofa as a sofa table...that way I am killing 2 birds with 1 stone! It is much nicer than the Sauder press board book shelves! (The picture shown is a great representation of what it really looks like too.)
Great little shelf

A little hard to assemble, but once together it makes a nice little shelf. I am using for toy storage/display, and it is perfect for that use.
Looks like picture

we purchased this for our family room. It looks exactly like the picture and was great quality for the price.
Didn't last more than a year

Bought this about a year and a half ago. Material is flimsy and it fell apart while moving it.
Nice look, needs bracing

This is a nice looking, easy-to-construct bookshelf with deep shelves and a low height that leaves the top surface available for a fruit-bowl (for example) or stereo. Good for small apartment if you just have a few dozen books. But put the heavy volumes on the bottom shelf (or on the very top of the unit) as the single middle shelf is a bit too thin for heavy stuff. I also braced the unit with 2.5 inch brass angles - and I really think it needed the extra bracing to stabilize.

Self is sturdy, looks great and the price is right.
