Wine Racks

This is a sturdy and attractive wine rack that I would recommend for storage of any size wine bottle. The "half-circle" support of this rack does not have the problem that "closed-circle" racks have - no bottle is too large for this rack! It is attractive enough for storage in the kitchen and is sturdy enough for my basement storage of wine. While remodeling our kitchen, I had a small space that I hoped to add either a wine rack or a bakers rack. Given the size and height constraints, I feared the options were limited. Fortunately I happened upon Wayfair and found several racks that would serve my purpose. The "Wooden Wine Rack with Wheels by ORE Furniture" worked great. It was SIMPLE to assemble. It is sturdy and a nice addition to the kitchen. The bottom shelf holds cookbooks under the first wine rack shelf and the top shelf is great for a variety of uses. I immed liked the look of this wine rack and grabbed for my credit card. What I should have done is read the size dimensions much more carefully. This guy is as big as a mini canoe! Sans paddle. The wall where I intended it is big enough - but it is also bathed in sunlight and backs up to a look through fireplace. NOBODY's fault but mine! The delivery was without incident; and the color and workmanship is pleasing not only to my eye - but also to my budget. In short: THIS wine rack is a commendable addition to my decor - IF I can find a place to mount it w/o having to build a new addition. Instead of a rifle rack - this wine rack would reallly look neat mounted in the rear window of a reallly snazzy pickup cab; especially in California where EOM's quickly draw CHP attention. I'm a handyman and @ [$] I thought I could build this rack for less. Then I started considering my time and aggravation, etc., so I decided to buy this unit instead. What a good decision! [if I do say so, myself]. To all those other do-it-yourselfers out there: you can't build this as well for the same money. Screw holes are pre-drilled; plank ends are routed; the wood material is appropriate for the expected load.I do have a couple of construction quibbles. 1] There are wood cleats at the diagonal ends that are just stapled in place. That probably is sufficient because they're internally supported by the diagonal shelves, but I screwed 'em in anyway. 2] The top, bottom & middle horizontal planks are each pre-drilled for 3 screws but only 2 are provided. I also built a recessed pedestal of 1"x3" fir to keep the bottles off the floor but it's not necessary [see pic].The instructions are clear, assembly is simple and the pieces fit together easily. The wood is a stark natural white and I stained mine with MinWax Wood Finish Golden Oak 210B to give it a richer look but not too dark [see pics showing before/after and final built].I installed my bin in a closet with other wine bins and storage shelves but I think the final product looks good enough to be a piece of furniture you can live with. Securing the unit to the wall is a must and you might consider additional L-brackets near the base and installing the top ones [provided] inside the box [not above the box as instructed] just to hide them.I'm very happy with the increased storage capacity this rack gives me and the style of old world, time-tested diamond bins."..."  Read more
