"Hi Daniel. The product guide advises that you place no more than 30 lbs. on each shelf. However, if you screw the metal bracket into the wall studs rather than using anchors into drywall, you should be able to place more weight on the shelf, though that would be entirely up to your discretion."

Matt Bentley from St. Louis Park, MN	5.0 5/21/2012 Great Product for the Price You can spend loads more for floating shelves that aren't as nice. The real key to any floating shelve is in what you can't see - and that is how it attaches. These have two large metal arms that extend into the wood rather than the much cheaper systems where it just clips onto a long bar. We made sure to screw into wall studs and the system is very sturdy and lays flat against wall. This also means you can toss all the extra screws and wall anchors in the package (and forego the large holes that come with anchors). Would definitely buy again. Was this helpful? Yes / No

Installing it was much longer than the 15 minutes it said it would take. Also, one of the screws were not lined up properly with the hole. Other than that, it is fine workmanship for the price.
