No damage that I can see except for a few tiny places where the black was missing in the corner seams......BUT that is the purpose of black sharpie pens. Works great for touch ups on black furniture. Nightstands we saw at home good stores didn't have the quality we were looking for. Nothing came close to the look or quality of these.
