Wildon Home ® Oberon Twin over Twin Bunk Bed
Great with a little extra work

It was really hard to find bunk beds with solid head and footboards, so I took a chance on this one. I knew I might have to do some work, but it was worth it to not have to deal with slatted or railed headfootboards. The wood color is not a deep brown like you see in the photo...at least not on all of the pieces. It is a sprayed on finish that has more redorange tint where they didn't spray it on enough, and like another reviewer stated, their is no consistency from one piece to another. The rails and ladders were all painted well and were a deep brown color, but they did not coat the head and footboards enough and some were lighter than others. I bought a can of Minwax mahogany gel stain ($15) and wiped a coat on the head and footboards with a lint free rag (old t-shirt) and now have my perfect color. I did have to put more coats over the lighter headboards to get them all to match. The gel stain is transparent, so you still see the grain of the actual wood, it just deposits the darker brown color and tones down the redorange. No need for any sealer, the original sheen came through the gel stain. It was extra work, but I am very happy with the finished product. Now it looks just like the picture. Note: The dresser in the Wildon Home Perry collection matches this set perfectly. It took several calls to Wayfair and almost 4 weeks to never have that question answered. I finally took a chance and ordered the dresser anyway. Luckily, it was a match, and they sprayed it well like the bed rails and ladder, so I did not have to touch it up at all.
