I purchased this desk to get rid of my junk drawer and free up 1 counter in my kitchen. I do not have a lot of space so I really needed the counter and drawer space. I organized my kids homework folders, lined paper, stapler, pencils note pads and more. It keeps everything organized, it doesn't take up a lot of space and its beautiful. I have received several compliments on it.

I am using this as a mail sorting station- perfect for a tiny spot. Make sure you measure accurately, I did. I have 2 macbooks, you could leave it on the top if you left the lid down, to close it, they would have to go in bottom drawer. I am leaving them in a case I put right beside it. I use the top drawer for vitamins and medications that I use daily or almost daily. The drop piece is not going to hold a lot of weight, do not buy this if you are going to work at it, I believe the hinges will pull if you do. It looks exactly like the photo, perfect for mail sorting and bill paying. Very good value, assembly is nothing, just screw on drawer pulls and legs. As legs are adjustable, you can level it with the included legs. Very attractive!
