Dont look too close
Elizabeth from San Francisco, CA– Verified Buyer
Purchased this because size and price fit my needs. It went together really easily (did it by myself) and is sturdy as a tank (even though 1 of the 4 screws for the top shelf was useless). The problem is the laminate. It is not faux-wood-like at all. It has what's maybe a linen pattern to it. It looks fabric-y and is a medium brown color, not like the rich espresso stain used in a lot of RA furniture. It's pretty much cheesy. So, while the piece looks good from a distance, up close it's kind of lame and I feel sort of embarrassed by it. But if you're going to use it in a location where you might not have any esthetic qualms, then it's a good sturdy option.
Functional product but shoddy with useless instructions
Mark from Hickory, NC
The Ikea-style (pictures only) instructions that come with this are worse than useless. Lay out the parts, figure out how they go together and go to it. Your intuition is likely to be better than the instruction sheet. The laminate is extremely cheap. It's some kind of a low-quality vinyl that probably will not survive regular use for long. The manufacturing and quality control are poor. Many pre-drilled holes do not go all the way through the laminate. Fortunately, the poor quality of the laminate makes it easy to overcome this weakness. When completed, the product is sturdy and quite attractive -- especially for the price. To sum it all up keep looking. You can do better.
