Canwood Furniture Whistler Junior Twin Low Loft Bed with Built-In Ladder
compromise for two wanting top bunk
Melissa from kansas– Verified Buyer
This bed was a perfect compromise for our children as we had two kids fighting about who would get to sleep on the top bunk of a bunk bed. We opted for these beds instead of a traditional bunk bed so both kids win the "top bunk" argument. We went with a lower loft because of the age of our children. They cannot stand underneath but there is still lots of room to play/store toys. They like having an 'office, fort, secret clubhouse, garage, house....' The use of the underneath space knows no limits.
Great loft bed for 3 year olds!
Georgina from Los Angeles, CA– Verified Buyer
Have had it for over a week and so far so good...very good! I have 3 yr old twins and wanted an option for a bunk with storage but nothing to high since the boys are still young and this has worked really well. It is low enough that a jump from the second step by them is not scary to watch. The material is somewhat thin but seems to hold up well but I don't trust that adults and kids could lay together unless the parent and kid are both low in weight. Overall looks good, drawers are nice and function well, sliding door drawers are fine and opted not to use the desk at this time so they can use the underneath for hiding and playing area. I'll wait till they have "homework" to put that part on. For the price, not sure you can beat the quality and look.
Very Nice But....
Dominic from Port St Lucie, FL– Verified Buyer
It is a very nice bed, my son loves it! But here's the problem, IF you want to change the ladder to the other (right side), get someone who's mechanically inclined. On a scale of 1-5, 5 being the most skilled, 3-4 is fine. Just be prepared to countersink the 2 set screw caps so they fit properly & pre-drill 4 additional holes in the ladder & bed frame for additional security of the ladder. I pre-drilled & countersunk & used 3" course drywall screws because that's all I had lying around but 2-1/2" will suffice... other than that, it's a very nice bed..
perfect for my 5 year old!

Put this together today. My 12 year old nephew did most of the work. We had no trouble with the directions and no missing parts. Took us about an hour to assemble.

My son LOVES this bed
Crystal from Greenville, TX– Verified Buyer
My 3 year old adores this bed. His first response was "I have a ladder!" It arrived quickly, and was easy for my spouse to assemble. We have placed toy baskets and such under the bed, which frees up space and makes his room look bigger. We attached a battery powered led light under the bed to one of the slats, and it turned out to be a pretty cool play or reading space. It's sturdy enough that I can lay down with him and read a book, and the rails are tall enough that I am comfortable that he will not fall out. For late night potty trips we have a night light, but he has no problem getting up and down the ladder. I am very happy with this purchase.
Exactly what my daughter wanted
Nicole from Houston, TX– Verified Buyer
After seeing a similar bed on Pinterest, my 4 year old decided this was exactly what she wanted, and she has loved it! We put some flower lights under it so she has a play space and still has her cute bed in top. My only complaint is that it said the ladder can be on either end, but we could not figure out any way to make that happen. If we tried to do it the way the instructions said, there wasn't a way to make it work because there weren't holes in the right places. But it's a great bed, for a great price, and set up was pretty straight forward.
Perfect for my 5 year old!!!!!

He absolutely loves his new bed, this is an upgrade from his toddler bed and it has completely changed the way he feels about his room and even himself a bit. Before he would always spend time in his 10 year old brother's and only retreat to his room for bed time during the school week. Now he wants to spend all of his time in his room enjoying his bed and desk. He loves the fact that his able to slide his desk under his bed when company is over. The extra room is such a plus. Great Job to whomever created this.
Decent Kids Chest
Frank from Kings Park, NY– Verified Buyer
The chest material is particle board, so be very careful when assembling. Although not specified in the directions, probably a good idea to pre-drill small holes prior to installing the screws. Unfortunately, I did not do this and the wood split in several places when installing the back. Wayfair.com customer service is second to none as they quickly took care of this issue beyond my expectations! Probably a little over priced for the chest based on materials but it looks good, matches and fits nicely under the junior twin loft bed.
Great Space Optimizer.
Frank from Kings Park, NY– Verified Buyer
This is a decent low loft bed great for a kids room. The unit is exactly as described on the site and goes together fairly easily. At 160 lbs, I tested/slept in the bed one night and was very comfortable. The bed was very stable and I did not notice any issues. I would not approve of "horsing around" up there but more than adequate for sleeping. The matching dresser fits nicely underneath as well as a small bean bag chair and some under cabinet lighting that makes a cool hangout.
