I had problems with an earlier bench I bought that collapsed on me while I was bench pressing. Fearing this may happen again, I was looking for a replacement that would never suffer this plight. This bench is extremely solid and very, very sturdy. It is well constructed with no points of weakness in its configuration. It has three main metal parts, two of which are the base. There is no chance of structural failure. The only negative feature is the width of the bench. The bench could be a bit wider; it is not quite wide enough to fully support your back because there is so much padding that when bench pressing, the weights feel as they may tilt from side to side; again this was not a strutural problem but a pad to bench width ratio issue. Again, if you need a rock solid bench...this is for you. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a sturdy and safe bench."..."  Read more

Strong and sturdy flat bench. Build was an ease took less then an hour. Safety catch is great for when benching alone and with the head part of the flat bench being more narrow it allows you to have a full range of motion without having any obstruction with movements of the arms. This is a solid peice of equiptment; however the trainer that said that it was too tall for short people was absolutely correct! A word to the wise: if you're short, flip the support pads over as they add 4"or more to the total height of the frame. Once I did that, it worked great for me and I'm only 5'4". Was still very comfortable. Also true that the foam plugs for the ankle pads suck. It ends up not mattering a whole lot though, as they seem more for looks than true need. Even so, the Valor team should fix that aspect of the design. Over all, great for home work outs!"..."  Read more
