Long story short - I have a stream in my yard and a walk-out basement. Several months ago after a very heavy rain the stream overflowed and all the water came in underneath the basement door. I paid $500 to have a pro come and clean out all the water. He suggested this pump for future use. Recently we had a heavy snowstorm, a freeze and then heavy rain with a thaw. If I didn't have this pump I would have had a flooded basement again. I attached a hose to it, put it in the spot where the water gathers and put the hose as far away from the house as possible. I though these little pumps were just for water features and the like. This little pump is very powerful. No more flooded basements. It doesn't get any easier. I have a drainage problem on my lot and use this pump in a sump to pump runoff to the street. I purchased this same model around 13 years ago and it performed well for the entire time and is still functional. I am adding a brick patio and must again use a pump to remove accumulated water. Great little sump pump for those el nino years when we get a lot of rain and it floods. It'll pump small solids like dirt but has a built in screen to keep out large solids like rocks. One power cord plugs into the other so you only need one outlet to plug into, not two. An excellent little portable pump since you can use the hose adapter to screw in a regular garden hose to use as a drainage line. So if you would rather have a portable submersible pump rather than a fixed one, this little model is perfect for that."..."  Read more
