I've owned 2 of them over the past 10 years, and bought a third last week.
The first I let the float rest against the sump wall running it dry and burned up the pump.
The second was to replace the one I burned up, and to pump my 15,000 gallon pool out to replace the liner. It would pump, with a five foot rise, a few minutes then shut off until it cooled down then start pumping again automatically. It did this until all 15,000 gallons were pumped out. About 7 hours. That sounds like a long time but that was 15,000 gallons with a small 1/3 hp pump.
The third I bought last week was to replace the one I took out of the sump to pump out the pool with, and to use for other uses in the future so I don't have to keep taking the one out of the sump."..." Read more
