I use this pump to remove water from my basement when my small utility pump isn't up to doing the job. - Unlike a lot of similar pumps, it discharges straight up (instead of at an angle) which is useful because of where I have to set it up. - It's a stable solid pump that runs cool - It's relatively quiet and pumps down to under 1/4" - Although it moves water really well, at shallow depths (less than 1/2") it slows down (but still moves a lot more water than my utility pump) and makes slurping noises (because it starts to suck air in along with the water) Unlike a typical utility pump, this pump requires a 2" hose. The one I bought with the pump screwed onto the top with little difficulty and was fairly easy to roll up when I finished."..."  Read more

Long story short - I have a stream in my yard and a walk-out basement. Several months ago after a very heavy rain the stream overflowed and all the water came in underneath the basement door. I paid $500 to have a pro come and clean out all the water. He suggested this pump for future use. Recently we had a heavy snowstorm, a freeze and then heavy rain with a thaw. If I didn't have this pump I would have had a flooded basement again. I attached a hose to it, put it in the spot where the water gathers and put the hose as far away from the house as possible. I though these little pumps were just for water features and the like. This little pump is very powerful. No more flooded basements. It doesn't get any easier. I just purchased another one just in case the first one goes. Also, it is so quiet that you don't even know that it's running."..."  Read more

I do not use this for a Basement pump but for transferring water from my two (2) 450 gallon tanks that I catch rain water from my barn onto. Then transfer it to an 8500 gallon tank that I use for the orchard and garden water. So far it ha been very satisfactory except that it leaves a little too much water in the bottom of my tanks , I use it without the auto float sutoff."..."  Read more

This pump replaced another 13 HP pump that died and it works well in our basement for the amount of water that fills our sump. Weve had a lot of rain in the NE lately and this pump has handled everything thrown at it so far."..."  Read more
