This is a nice addition to the Premium + hutch. It gives some hopping space since the hutch itself really doesn't have much room, even for one bunny. It can be used as a separate cage if you put the open side against a wall (currently using it like this until my 2 rabbits are bonded). It has a nice cedar-y smell and looks nice, but be forewarned, your bun will take a few bites out of it and ruin that pristine appearance. Provide lots of other chew toys for them and it might not be a problem. I wish the little metal doorways were taller and wider though and extended further down. It would be easier to get in to pet your rabbit. Also, the wires on the bottom and top of the doorways are very sharp. The top opens in a butterfly fashion, which is good for getting out a litterbox, etc. I'm not very tall, so trying to lean in through the roof is a little hard for getting bowls and things. The pen was very easy to put together, but it is very lightweight and flimsy. I have it in the house and would not recommend it for outside use unless you were going to lock your bun in the hutch at night, since that is more sturdy. A raccoon, dog or other predator could easily get into this. Overall it's a good item to use with the hutch if you don't let your rabbit out to run around often (which they ultimately need)."..."  Read more

I researched every small animal cage out there. Wanted the biggest size for the best value. Rabbit need space and this is perfect for when we want to have our bunny nearby in the same roon we are in. Now personally I wouldn't house a rabbit in any cage as it's only home. We have an 8 foot pen to allow Romeo lots of room to roam and play. But we can't take the pen with us to different rooms. So this is the perfect alternative. The cage is sturdy, easy to set up, easy slide out tray for clean up. I did add a grass hay mat for bunny to stand or lay on in half of the cage floor so he didn't have the cage wire floor under his feet at all times while in the cage."..."  Read more

I hooked this up to the premium penthouse, and they look very nice together. I don't think I did anything wrong, but the top of this can be completely lifted off. There is no locking mechanism for the top, so if you have an animal who will push up on the top (a determined to escape rabbit, perhaps) then this would not work for you. I use it to raise quail in, and so far it seems excellent for this. It does however make it even more difficult to get to the quail in the bottom part of the hutch, but on the plus side, I can now put things in the run that did not fit in the bottom part of the hutch. This gives my animals much more room, which is what I was a after, so I would recommend it, although I do think the price is steep.
