I am new to the idea of Pizzelles but really wanted to try making them. Knowing nothing about them I started reading. I was interested in the product info but especially the reviews. This is the unit I picked. I have no problems with the unit but I did have problems making the batches. I followed the included recipes exactly, making the orange ones and the chocolate ones. It said to use a generous teaspoon of batter but it was so thick that it only pressed down to about a half of the pizzelle size it should have been and I think they were too thick. I had the unit clamped tightly so I don't know how I could have made them flatter. I ended up using a heaping tablespoon to even come close to filling out the design. I also have questions about the amount of butter in the recipe because I had butter grease running out all around the maker when it was closed and cooking. I don't believe these problems are with the pizzelle maker. It performed as I expected. My problems were with the batter which was like a heavy stiff cookie dough. Maybe it is supposed to be but I think it would have worked a little better if it had been not quite as stiff. It also cleans quite easily. Just wipe with paper towels. Overall I am very satisfied with this pizzelle maker. I would recommend it to a friend which I have already done. I will tinker with recipes until I get it right for me."..."  Read more

I am used to a flat frypan for making crepes. The crepe maker took some adjusting to but now I love using it. I have found that it is wonderful for heating items from leftovers to tortillas. The book that came with the crepe maker has many ethnic recipes. The maker is easy to clean, heats up fast and gives an even all around cooking surface. I found spreading the batter is an acquired skill. Use lots of batter and spread to the edges. A large wooden rake does the best job. A cooler setting will give you time to spread the batter while you perfect your raking skills. I have made insane dinner crepes with wild mushrooms and bechemel sauce. Oh La La."..."  Read more

I make pizelles during the holidays and my old iron was just getting old. I bought one of the Cucina Pro pizzelle irons and it was so easy to use and made such good cookies, that I bought a second one. The only drawback is the size of the cookies. They are a bit smaller than what I am used to. With a second iron, my son and I can both make the cookies and get done faster. The iron heats up fast and even and bakes just perfect. The cleaning is extremely easy, it just wipes clean! The price is very reasonable and I do like the fact that it makes 4 cookies instead of 2. Most other irons make only 2 cookies at a time. I teach High School French, and we make crepes in class. The cordless unit cooks much faster than the other machine I have. Also, the cordless feature makes it that much safer and more convenient when using in the midst of lots of people. The recipe included with the crepe maker, however, I changed. Instead of brushing the cooking surface with butter, I added melted butter to the batter. Much faster and easier, and didn't stick. I love this product, and am going to order another!"..."  Read more
