just turn to waffle ,mine i turn lower towards counter , makes mine just how i like them .the more you turn knob to up possition the darker the waffle . to start , light comes on , wait its getting hot and when light goes out pour one cup batter in middle ,spread to sides and close ,light will then come back on .dont touch waffle till light goes back out open,;; takes about 6 minutes ;; ,and wow perfect waffle every time .i do spray with tiny bit pam befor pouring waffle batter .. it dose get very ,very hot ..so just have pot holders to help when opening .[not for child to use ]it gets hot hot .. . can do many things and works the best ever . do know it gets hot on outside ,becouse its made that way... perfect in every way if used in the correct way .. i highly reccomend if you are willing to understand ,it gets hot on outside allso. try it you can do it and will love it once you learn . some people never read directions ,and get burned ..so i explained .its well worth the money just pay attention."..." With the Cuisinart Waffle Maker you can have ht special order waffles in about 2 minutes. It is super easy to use. Just plug it in, wait for the light to turn green, add your batter and close. The light goes back to red and when it turns green a second time your waffle is ready. Works great! The maker starts heating a few seconds after you've closed the lid. It does the cooking for about a minute. Then the heating turns off. If you leave the lid closed, it will start new heating cycle in 20-30 seconds. There is a temperature regulator on the right side, so you can adjust the temperature. Makes waffles just fine.
