I am used to a flat frypan for making crepes. The crepe maker took some adjusting to but now I love using it. I have found that it is wonderful for heating items from leftovers to tortillas. The book that came with the crepe maker has many ethnic recipes. The maker is easy to clean, heats up fast and gives an even all around cooking surface. I found spreading the batter is an acquired skill. Use lots of batter and spread to the edges. A large wooden rake does the best job. A cooler setting will give you time to spread the batter while you perfect your raking skills. I have made insane dinner crepes with wild mushrooms and bechemel sauce. Oh La La."..." Read more

I teach High School French, and we make crepes in class. The cordless unit cooks much faster than the other machine I have. Also, the cordless feature makes it that much safer and more convenient when using in the midst of lots of people.
The recipe included with the crepe maker, however, I changed. Instead of brushing the cooking surface with butter, I added melted butter to the batter. Much faster and easier, and didn't stick.
