Heavenly Cooker Product Review It does everything we had hoped and more. We have cooked the recipes sent in the slow cooker and they are marvelous but the piece de resistance were carnitas! They fell apart and the because it cooked slowly the spices cooked into the pork. We cooked rice with it which were just perfect. We were somewhat fearful that we would have to be careful of the clay but it is sturdier than we imagined. Service Review Got here when they said it would. |

Still trying to make it work Product Review I found the manual lacking. ie - When I set delayed start, am I setting for the finish time (like my microwave) or the start cooking time (like my stove) By trying it, I found out you are setting for the start cooking time. When do I use Stew and when do I use Soup Whats the difference I havent found that out yet. Im going to sit down and re-read the manual again - hoping that I missed something the first time. Ive found trying to set it for 20 minutes (for oatmeal) is sometimes very tricky. There doesnt appear to be a 0 hour setting and I have to cycle through a few times before 20 minutes finally shows. Rice comes out perfect - any that Ive made so far. Oatmeal always burns, no matter how much milk I add (I always make my oatmeal with milk as I find it much richer). I keep trying with oatmeal as I would really like to be able to have my shower, etc while the oatmeal is cooking. I have yet to try split pea soup (another family favorite) for fear it will stick and burn as well. Ive only had the unit a few weeks so Im hoping that with time, Ill figure out how to use it as a slow cooker. Ive given away my old slow cooker so I have to make this work. Right now its just an expensive rice cooker. Service Review Delivery was a little slow but crossed the border without any additional charges. |

Great feature updates, same great result I love cooking in clay because of the great results I get every time and how I've read about how it preserves nutrients in our foods (using less oil and water). So I thought this product had to be great: the first electronic clay cooker I've seen--now I can cook in clay and even leave the house--it's ready when I get home! I really like the pre-programming feature on this model, which is absent on the round models. My favorite thing to do is cook steel cut oats using the stew button: I can load it and program everything the night before, and it starts cooking at 5am, ready to eat when I wake up (to the wonderful smell!) at 7am. Oatmeal in a slow cooker can't be beat--until now, with clay. I also love the re-heat feature on this model: I can re-steam day-old rice and it tastes just like fresh! I also use it to re-heat soups, and even use the warm function to mull cider in the winter. After getting this 18 months ago, I threw out my rice cooker and my crock pot--this does everything, so I just keep it on the counter. Love it! |
