Vacuums & Steamers

I just received the Primo steamer this past weekend and went to town on a long overdue grout cleaning project for my 3,100 square foot home. WOW, am I impressed. This steamer really packs a punch and did an unbelievable cleaning job on the grout. Plus, by my estimate, I saved around $650.00 by doing the job myself, and that savings includes the cost of the machine(I had received quote's from two grout cleaning company's, the low quote was $975 and the high was $1,200, and it was going to take two days for them to finish the job. Really, come on!!!). Not counting the time I spent familiarizing myself with the steamer and attachments (there are four different size brush attachments as well as a bunch of other attachments and fittings) it took me less than six hours to completely finish the job (although on Sunday my legs and knees hurt from all of the crawling around on the floor, next time I will use a stool). Here is what impressed me the most: I was able to use the steamer continuously, without stopping to refill the water, for more than an hour at a time. In just over six hours I filled the steamer with water five times, and still had steam left when I was finished. Awesome!! The dirt immediately came loose with just one pass with the steamer and wire brush attachment (I think it is made of brass, but not sure), no scrubbing required. A quick wipe behind the steam with a cloth and that was it, job done. I had tried to clean the grout before with cleaning products and a wire brush, but gave up after about 20 minutes of scrubbing (and scraping all the skin off my knuckles) and poor results. So, what a relief to find this steamer and get the job done without killing myself. The next day I used the steamer on my built-in outdoor gas grill and finished that off in about half the time it normally takes me to clean with oven cleaner and hand-scrubbing. Again, just one pass with the steam, and the grease melted away (and I didn't have to use any other cleaning products). We received the Euro Pro Shark Electric Steam Mop and as soon as it arrived we put it together. I had been wanting this mop forever so I was very excited to get it. It only took 2 minutes to put together and then all we had to do to start was attach the pad and add water and 30 seconds later we were mopping! No bending over and fighting with a mop and bucket. It comes with a little funnel and filling flask that pour water into the spot area. Then all you have to do is press the lever to release the first steam, this took a bit longer the first time we did it as we were told to expect. After a few minutes it started to come out nice and even and the gliding action would release it on it's own. Out kitchen floor took a whole 2 minutes to clean and afterwards it looked very good. The pad was so black and gross and I was impressed with how much dirt it picked up. The cord is nice and long so you don't have to stress that. The pads are machine washable and you get two with this particular mop. The only con that I could find with this is the velcro that attaches the pads to the mop. Today they worked fine but I imagine that after so many washes and with time they will no longer work. They should have come up with a better way to get these pads on or maybe in the newer models they already have. This was the model that we could afford though and for the price it's a good deal. We don't have a lot of floors in this house and that is why mopping them was such a chore, it almost took longer to set up the mop and bucket than to do the actual mopping and that is why no one ever wants to do it. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and hope that now my girls will want to mop daily instead of once a week. My other vacuum cleaner broke before I ordered this from the massive amounts of pet hair in my apt. When I got it I was worried that the over flow of pet hair was going to kill this one immediately. No problem, it sucked it right up and didnt even belch. Never owned a vacuum which does such a great job. I have a very shaggy dog who literally sheds 3 or 4 times her body mass. And a long haired cat. We all live in a teeny tiny space and it gets over run during shedding season. This vacuum clears the floor as if I have no pets at all. It also has a great capacity for holding what it picks up. I havent had to change it but once so far. Where other vacuums failed and clogged up, it does the trick. I only wish they had designed the cord wrap slightly better as it is hard to store the cord in between uses. Thats partially because it has a long cord. I can vacuum my whole apt without having to move the cord."..."  Read more

I just received my Reliable Steam Cleaner and tried it out in my house. It was great not having to use all those chemicals I would ordinarily use. First I cleaned my tile and it did a wonderful job. Next I tried it out on my dirty grout. It is a big job and could not do it in one day but by using the extra high pressure steam gun and the brass brush I saw that I could get my grout clean doing a section at a time over a few days. Next I used it to clean my bathrooms. What an amazing job it did around the toilets, shower and faucets. Next I cleaned my wrought iron breakfast table and chairs. Again it melted away the dirt with very little effort. I never got the chairs as clean as I did with this machine. You do have to constantly wipe away the dirt and excess water made with the steam. But even this was easier than it would have been using a scrub brush and cleaning fluids. What I did not like was The cord is much to short and I will buy an extension cord. The lock on the steam gun does not work well. I will try to rig something so my hand does not get so tired from holding down the trigger. At first I thought there was something wrong with the machine. No steam came out after about 5 minutes. I realized that the hose attached to the main part needs to be pushed in from time to time. This part would loosen frequently as as I moved around the house. Annoying but workable.Hopefully with an extension cord that won't happen as much. So far I would give it 4 STARS."..."  Read more
