I love this stand. Some people complained about a problem with the threads, but I did not experience that at all -- just be careful when you put the screws in. Start threading them in by hand and ensure they're not cross threaded before you put torque on them with a screw driver. Anyway, great stand for the money. It has spikes as feet that can be adjusted to level the stand if your floors aren't perfect, as well as optional ones on the top that screw in and are intended to rest the speaker on. This stand was perfect for placing my 9" tall center channel under my wall-mounted 55" plasma. The short height is perfect for being able to mount the tv at eye level so my neck doesn't hurt after watching a movie. One star knocked off because the top is not angled, and I don't want my speaker pointed at my knees. Not a serious problem, though. Either put something under the front of the speaker to prop it up (I cut wine corks to the height I needed and put them on the front corners of the stand), or you could buy some machine screws and nuts at a hardware store and put them in the threaded holes the top spikes are supposed to go in and use those to adjust the angle of the speaker.
Nice stand but one screw thread defect
Vincent from MA– Verified Buyer
Like other reviewers have noted about VTI stands, I had one screw that immediately stripped out upon assembling the column to the base. No big deal for me since the screw thread is 6mm and I happen to know that re-tapping with a 1/4 - 20 tap perfectly creates threads for the slightly larger 1/4 - 20 screw that I put into this hole. Other than this slight annoyance, the stand is very nice. Note that this model holds the speaker level, and not tipped upward like other VTI center channel speaker stands.
Absolutely terrible stand

2 of 3 screws stripped, do not support speakers. After putting these together I immediately threw them in the trash they are low quality.

I've ordered products on the web for years and this ranks among the items I'm most pleased with. True, it's only a speaker stand but you have to see this thing to appreciate the quality. Simply put, it's built like a tank! I actually felt excited during the quick and easy assembly process; I could not wait to place it in my home theater arrangement. It looks great and suited my needs perfectly. If you have a screen that comes close to the floor (within 17"), BUY this stand. You will not be sorry.
Poor quality control

It is a decent stand and it is very sturdy however the quality control is a issue. The screw holes were tapped very poorly. One on the three holes on top was stripped out and the other two will have to carry the load.
