Nice Speaker Stands - very stable from Reston, VA on 12/15/2014 – Verified Buyer
Holds my KEF Q300s just fine. The KEF's have a deep speaker box and weigh in at about 20 pounds each - I didn't want to get cheap stands. Like the speaker channel in the stand to conceal wire. Could do without the logo, but it comes off easily. Took about 15 minutes (30 total - there are 2) and a Phillips head screwdriver to put together. The spikes on the bottom sit on little plastic discs - be careful when you set them on your hardwood floors. Construction is solid, and at 24" and black they are not too obnoxious. The wife can live with them. I have not put bits of shot or gravel in them yet, though I do plan to use one or the other at some point. I would stay away from sand, the seal is OK, but sand is messy.

Nice stands from Tullahoma, TN on 07/15/2012 – Verified Buyer
Actually I got these as an after thought. I was buying a stand and saw these in clearance for $94.00. I had been not seriously looking for some speaker stands that were 24" in height and these seemed to fit the bill. Not familiar with them, I did some quick searching and saw they normally sell for around $200 so thought I would give them a try. I am pretty happy with them. Includes spikes for the stands themselves plus spikes for where the speaker sits. It has adhesive plastic discs you can put on your speaker to keep the spikes from messing up the wood. What I like, and why I ordered them, is you can fill the stands with sand, metal etc and it has a separate channel to run your speaker wire. I would say they are for bigger "bookshelf" speakers as they are not a small stand. Is what I needed tho as I am using them for a pair of vintage B&W DM2 which are a pretty heavy speaker. Very sturdy with the speakers on them. I am not 100% sure about just having the speakers on the spikes as I have grandkids and dogs. While they are sturdy, a good bump would knock them off the stands - but you would have that with any stand unless you bolted them to the stand (you could do that with these if you wanted). At $200, I would have had to been actually looking to buy them, but would have been happy with them when I got them. At the clearance price of $94, they were a great bargain.

Good quality and value from Sewickley, PA on 09/23/2012 – Verified Buyer
I bought these for my Paradigm Studio 20 v.4 bookshelf speakers. These are very heavy speakers. I was faced with either buying $500 Paradigm stands or these. Based on other reviews, I elected the less expensive VTI VSP stands. I think it was a good decision. While not custom-made for the Paradigms, nor are solid as more expensive stands, they are a good value compromise. The speaker spikes keep a good grip on the speakers. Also, the adjustable stand spikes easily allowed me to level the stands on my uneven (carpeted) basement floor. I haven't filled the uprights with any weight material yet, although I may at a later date. I used to buy big cartons of BB's as a kid. Hopefully they still make these, because that would add several pounds to the base, and be easy to deal with and clean up when I have to move them next.

Excellent for heavy bookshelf speakers from Hilliard, OH on 04/07/2013 – Verified Buyer
I needed a pair of stands for some heavy bookshelf speakers. I looked at all of the currently available options. These stands are heavy and have the stability to hold these speakers - about 40 lbs each. The floor spikes work well on the carpet to achieve stability. The aluminum extrusion post and the cast iron base look very good and hide the speaker cable well. I'm very pleased

Excellent value for money from Bethesda, MD on 07/01/2011
I have put my Bowers and Wilkins CM-1 speakers on this stand. I am using them as surround sound speakers (I know, I know, expensive surround sounds). The speakers on the stands look really nice. The construction was quite easy with solidly fitting parts although a novice may find the instructions or lack thereof quite frustrating. Two things bothered albeit slightly. 1. The VTI logo on the base looks quite cheap and I took it off by simply sliding a sharp knife under it 2. Once I put sand into the stand some of it got caught between the base the pole and I was hard to remove Overall I think they look gorgeous and were it not for the two issues above I would give it a five star

LSIM 703 pedestal from Mansfield, TX on 04/04/2012 – Verified Buyer
I ordered the 30" stands to support my 35lb Polk LSIM 703 bookshelf speakers. Even without sand they are fairly heavy (good). They arived in a couple of days (good), they were real easy to assemble and they have no defects in the finish (Great). I saw a pair of Sanus stands that looked very similiar to these VTI stands at a Starpower store here is Dallas, they were asking $500 for the pair,,,,,That makes this an excellent deal, Thats my story and I am sticking to it:)

Stand Up Speaker Stands from Long Beach CA on 08/12/2012
Pros: well made, easily put together, aesthetically functional. These stands will stand up to any costing twice as much or more. Wire maintenance system excellent. Con: would have liked to have a choice of finish - perhaps something smooth with the mat finish or smooth "piano black". Wayfair Pro: EXCELLENT service, timely delivery.

Heavy n great look. Im very pleased. from quebec, canada on 07/04/2011 – Verified Buyer
Cannot be happier. Maybe a bit expensive if u compare this set to cheap one. This is excactly what i was looking for. Heavy cast iron base, nice alluminium frame and solid metal plate on top. The only negative that i already know by reading comments here was : U need to buy longeur screw for the base if u dont want to spoil the tread on the allumiunium tube. And the seal for base is cheap, but i did not fill the tube with sand. Im very happy of my purshase.

Good quality and value! from Millstone Twp, NJ on 09/28/2012 – Verified Buyer
Overall a good set of speaker stands. The base is wide, offering good stability and the center column can be filled to make then even more stable. Only issue, I have odd shaped speakers (DefTech rears), and the spikes on the top plate are not adjustable to the shape of the speaker.

"Hey, so this looks perfect, but I have hardwood flooring and I'm a bit concerned about scratching it up. Do you have any suggestions?" — Ryan
"Hello Ryan, the spikes are removable, or a plastic disk can be purchased to be used with spikes on hardwood flooring."
    — Wayne from Wayfair
"I need a stand where I can bolt (one bold into the bottom middle of the speaker) the speaker to the stand. I can drill the hole in the bottom of the stand but want something that can accommodate this. In the case of the VTI VSP - VSP Series Speaker Stands, I need to be able to attach the bottom plate to the speaker and then attach it onto the stand. If I drill the hole in the center of the bottom plate, can this be done? Do you know if that will work for this stand or which ones it will work for?" — Jeraldine
"Hi Jeraldine, holes can be drilled into this particular speaker stand. The manufacturer actually recommends drilling the holes for extra support."
    — Celinda from Wayfair
