Great Value This is another extension of the line the company offers for affordable but very solid aduio/video racks. I'm using this for my higher end stereo equipment. I didn't want to spend thousands of dollars because honestly in my room the rack doesn't make much acoustic difference (I've tried using racks up to $10k in cost). So for me this was a NO-BRAINER! Look at the cost difference!!! |

Quality product Other than the wrong shelf size was sent, no problems. I was under a time constraint so didn't have the option of sending it back and waiting for another. I just took the component out of it's cabinet. |

Nice addition to the main BL503 unit The 9" shelf is nice and sturdy. Kind of no frills--doesn't have cable management. The caps are a bit chinsy but serve the purpose. The positioning of the support beams can be an issue depending on your setup because the beams aren't at the corners, but rather more centrally located (see pics). This can interfere with wiring, or if you want to put a center channel speaker on the shelf it can block the drivers. I bought the 9" to replace the stock 7" that comes with the full unit since my center channel is 8" high. I thought about sawing off the center support (my HDTV is only 60lbs so I wasn't too worried about the loss of support -- I wouldn't have considered this if I had a 200lb CRT on the top). Anyway, I positioned the center off kilter a bit so the center support didn't block the tweeter. I'm not concerned with an obstruction of one of the main drivers, but i didn't want an obstacle in front of the tweeters. Bottom line is the shelf is economical, sturdy, and won't break the bank. |
